TOP TEAMS

Top Teams diagnoses your current team culture and helps your leaders create a plan to increase effectiveness and drive organizational goals. This allows your team to operate at their peak so you can deliver the results that will enable your vision.

During this session, participants will:
  • Understand what makes and breaks a high performing team
  • Co-create a team SWOT analysis
  • Decide how to leverage collective strengths
  • Dig deep into the dysfunctions that could threaten the team's success
  • Develop a common language around the personality traits that lead to positive team dynamics during collaboration
  • Build and test norms for increasing team effectiveness

PREWORK
In preparation for this program, participants complete two surveys & one interview that together take less than 40 minutes.
  1. Participants spend 10 minutes completing the WorkPlace Big Five personality assessment.
  2. Participants spend 10 minutes completing the  Axe & Arrow questionnaire soliciting their analysis of individual strengths and development areas.
  3. Participants engage in a 30 minute interview focused on team culture and dynamics.  The results of these interviews will shape the direction of the overall experience.
MODULE ONE
Teaming:
Discuss what is happening in the near future and why it might require a high functioning executive team. Team members share stories about their previous experiences working on highly effective teams and the group co-creates a model of high performance. Review the Tuckman phases of teaming and let the the group identify where they are and how they can effectively prepare for the phases coming down the road. Determine which Lencioni dysfunctions might threaten your teams success.  Share out a poster that outlines individual strengths and how to bring them out in the team environment.
MODULE TWO

Your Impact on Others:
Raise participant self-awareness with the introduction of the Workplace Big Five instrument. Explore the tool and dig into individual results, focusing on how natural instincts may help or hinder your work.  There is time set aside for personal reflection and a ‘walk and talk’ with one other member of the group.

MODULE THREE
Team Dynamics:
Explore the WorkPlace Big Five Group Insights results and how personality differences may impact existing dynamics, Present the team results and transitions the group away from their personal discoveries into the teaming dynamic. This tool is careful to point out that traits are neither good nor bad, but some will help you with your work and others will explain why parts of your job are exhausting. The team sets up norms to help navigate the phases of teaming, considering where they are going and the personalities of everyone on the team.
MODULE FOUR
Collaboration:
Participate in an observed collaboration and discover the collective strengths of the team, learn best practices for overcoming barriers, apply your new skills to the creation of team norms you can take back into the workplace

"When I reached out to Axe & Arrow I was looking for a way to bring my newly formed team together. Our Axe & Arrow consultant met with myself, key stakeholders and all the members of the team before putting together the "teaming" off-site program.  Axe & Arrow implemented a 2-day event that allowed the team to get beyond the surface, dig into individual strengths and weaknesses, provide feedback where needed and set up a collective mission.  The entire experience brought the team closer together and fast tracked our path to peak performance.  If you are looking for a way to pull your team together, I highly recommend Axe & Arrow as your partner."

"We needed to reset our culture. Axe & Arrow's process helped us define cultural norms and break down silos.  Our teamwork accelerated, and the company found its true 'North Star' that unleashed the full potential of the business. I am happy to report that a year later the culture and team are collaborating like never before, and the business results are stronger than ever."
